Vic Wertz sidebar; many many years ago my friend and I coined a phrase/reply to any complaint to the effect of, "Yeah, well, Vic Wertz is still pissed!", referring of course to having Willie Mays (hotdog) rob him of extra bases with "The Catch". So, whenever either of us would lodge some petty complaint about anything, the other would reply with this phrase. I think its a good one, so feel free to put it back into use.

Clutch batsman. Definitely Brett. He's the one I saw the most and he also did the most. I most fondly remember the crushing blast in the 1980 ALCS off of Gossage. A monster shot. A dagger in the heart of the yankees. A line drive, it landed in the upper deck and it was still rising when it did!

Cheap shot with the Chambliss riff, Greg. Nice. All I have to say in return is...Bucky Dent!!!

Budrick, when shall we meet again for RGNC festivities?

be good.

Two of our three cars have been in the shop for over two weeks now. Not sooooo bad, since we were on vacation for part of that. But it has created some "challenges". Last week, my lovely bride drove to work in the morning, and I was going to ride my bike out there, pick up her car, run errands, and so forth. My route was a little different than what I would have usually taken, because I wanted to take in a trail on the way. I passed by a building I had been by several times in the past couple of years, but hadn't really taken notice of, but being on the bike you get to take in more as you go. I noticed it was a church, and was pastored by some friends of ours. We have been in desperate need of a church. We went Sunday. What a blessing. Thank you, Lord, for the broken vehicles.

Be happy and careful and thankful
