I hate to get into a "one better" match, but I couldn't pass this up. When my lovely bride and I were married just over 18 years ago, we were given a bottle of champange that I later found out sold for just over $50. Since we didn't drink, it seemed more of a nice gesture rather than a consumable commodity, so it sat in the cabinet for a few months. At work one night (PM shift) White Bird played on the oldies station, and a HUGE disagreement started amonst my co-workers over the name of the artist. I don't even recall whom they decided had done it, but after listening to them for over an hour, I piped in and said it was Its a Beautiful Day. Of course, no one had ever heard of that group. This went on for a day or two, and finally (pre-Internet), another employee got wind of the debate and brought in a cassette tape that he had found in a box of junk in his girlfriend's garage. Barely legible on the label was the name of the group and the song. I won the argument, and furthermore, traded the well worn cassette for the bottle of champagne. The condition under which I used to listen to that song in "the olden days" is questionable, but I still enjoy it to this day. As well as your John Hartford selection. I remember the day I heard of his passing on the radio, I couldn't stop humming and whistling Aeroplane the rest of the day. What a loss. Thanks for leaving the music behind.

Be happy and careful

Wow, a bender! Last bender I was on was the one on my Telecaster. If'n I goes on bender these days, its most likely pie and coffee. Yep, cain't hide that pie from me fast enough when I go on a bender now. Of course, I haven't been to Aloha Land, so I guess that could adjust your attitude a bit.

So, Greg is married now, some of us are back in America, and life goes on. Still don't give a rat's rump about BS or "Stony End". Sorry. No, wait, I'm not! Agree with the Mary Frann snub fiasco, however.

back later. be good.
