I've heard of summer. Haven't seen it for a while but I know that it visits the place where I will be after the first part of June. I want it to be very hot this summer. You can keep the humidity but I want the heat. 102...105, no problem. I was in southcentral Kansas one time on an excursion and the dj on the local radio station was giving the weather report around 4 or 5 in the afternoon and I remember it still: 107 degrees with 9% humidity. It felt great. Saw 115 in Vegas one time. It felt great. It hit 122 in the mo-jave desert around Needles one time. It felt great. Had a stretch of + 105 weather for about a week a few years back. Got up to 116 nearby in Louisburg, Ks., and 114 in H'ville. I was feeling well...

Interesting events lately, including the passing of the Pope of Rome. I'm not Roman Catholic, but I think he was a good man and his stock will increase as his effect on historic changes in momentum vis-a-vis east bloc politics becomes more widely known. Apparently the KGB russkies felt so threatened that they orchestrated the assasination attempt. He was stepping on big toes but he didn't flinch.

Warmish and sunny here today. It's not 107, but I'll take it for now.
be good.
Brother Dave and I met up in Joplin last week for a bite of lunch and visitation. It was a great time of fellowship and discovery. We discussed the imminent return of one of our own to the Real America in the not too distant future. We certainly are looking forward to that. No tellin' what might happen then.

Welcome now those longer days of summer. More daylight hours in which to get things done, or just plain enjoy the sights. I have to confess that I am definitely not a warm weather person, but it is nice to have a chance to hit the trails on my bike again. Not sure my legs agree with that.

If you happen to read this, please contact at least one member of the group and let them know that hibernation has officially ended and it is high time we make known our presence here.

Be happy and careful
