Snow and lots of it yesterday. Maybe a foot. Sunny now and no wind, about 27 degrees according to the radio weather serf. I will say this about the weather persons that inhabit the radio and tv airwaves in our vicinity: HUCKSTERS! Song and dance, doom and gloom, sky falling...no, wait, warm spell coming (threat of tornadoes!), whatever it takes to get you to watch them shuck and jive on the newscast while they steal valuable time from the sports segment. About 8-10 years ago there was a local independent channel that only showed a graphic with the most elementary weather info for that day and the one to come; no satellite maps, no "Viper 3" radar scans, just what to expect for tomorrow, then back to news and an extended sports segment. Cool. Then they got appointed as the local NBC affiliate and now they are the absolute worst weather hacks in town. Why do people watch something that spends 10 minutes telling them in detail about something that may or may not happen and is totally out of their control anyway? When I am king, this nonsense will truly cease.
