Vic Wertz sidebar; many many years ago my friend and I coined a phrase/reply to any complaint to the effect of, "Yeah, well, Vic Wertz is still pissed!", referring of course to having Willie Mays (hotdog) rob him of extra bases with "The Catch". So, whenever either of us would lodge some petty complaint about anything, the other would reply with this phrase. I think its a good one, so feel free to put it back into use.
Clutch batsman. Definitely Brett. He's the one I saw the most and he also did the most. I most fondly remember the crushing blast in the 1980 ALCS off of Gossage. A monster shot. A dagger in the heart of the yankees. A line drive, it landed in the upper deck and it was still rising when it did!
Cheap shot with the Chambliss riff, Greg. Nice. All I have to say in return is...Bucky Dent!!!
Budrick, when shall we meet again for RGNC festivities?
be good.
