A most happy between the holidays to all. Grandfatherhood has visited us once again. Little Ember arrived on December 27th and she and her mother are doing well. That brings the total thus far to 4, with a fifth due in May. What a lovely way to stay in touch with the evolution of children's toys. As I have known for some time, though, much of what is offered is attractive to parents and grand parents because we are duped into purchases by the marketing wizards. I must admit that I have caught myself saying "Wow, my grandson would REALLY like one of those". Truth be told, it is usually the simplest, least expensive item that really catches their fancy. After 50 some years, I guess the same holds true for me. I get pretty wound up about all the "cool" stuff, but usually am most satisfied by something a lot less material. I still carry the little picture in the back of my mind of a small cabin, with just enough room to be comfortable, and only the amenities needed to get by in a reasonable manner. Less stuff....fewer worries.

Marko - Please let me know how long your stay in the northern annex of The Four will be. I would still like to coordinate trip up yonder if possible. I haven't heard from the Wilson clan, so I'm not sure if the roundup is still on. Not that I need the pie after all the Christmas feasting, but a good cup o' Joe and some jammin' is definitely in order.

If'n I don't hear from you all in the meantime,

Be happy and careful and safe
