Two down, a few to go.
I had the pleasure last night of making the acquaintance of one Jeff Graham. In person. Just your basic "Hi, how do you do, nice to meet you, see you later" sort of thing, but swell nonetheless. The Painkillers made a return appearance at the Kitchen Pass in Joplin, USA, the hub of The Four. Bein's as the band van arrived on scene just moments before the scheduled performance, I decided against trying to swap life stories with Jeff for the time being. Unfortunately, my schedule didn't permit me to stay to hear the Painkillers. Maybe next time. This makes two notches on my RGNC yardstick, the other, of course, being Davey Joe Ray Bob Wilson, my longtime friend and supreme inspiration. I may have to don my deerstalker cap, pipe and cape and go Sherlocking to catch up with Brian. As fer the Easterners, that being Mr. Mark and the newer-than-me member Joe, it appears that I won't be trekking to the Greater Boston area til winter time. See you two then.
I might need some clarification here. Would cobbler (not the shoe kind) be considered close enough kin to pie to be an acceptable companion to a cup of fresh brewed coffeed? I sure hope so. You know, this time of year in The Four, there is an amazing abundance of wild blackberries. And this year, with all the rain, there is a bumper crop. Mrs. Lane has this blackberry cobbler thing down a T and that rhymes with D and that stands for D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S!. Mmmmm, mmmmm. Been puttin' a few up in the freezer, hopin' that we might be able to bring fresh cobbler to any get-together that's comin' up. Can't hold on to them too long, though. Not that they wouldn't keep, mind you. It's just a willpower thang.
Today marks the unofficial middle of summer: midway through the middle month. I hope you all have had an enjoyable, fruitful summer thus far. Drop a line to confirm your existence and tell some tales.

Be happy and careful
